July last year-6 months ago, I packed up my tiny 1 bedroom apartment in Melbourne, said farewell to family and loved ones to move to Brooklyn, New York. It was about taking Dashing Hounds men’s personal shopping service, to a whole new level. It would have to be one of the most exciting opportunities that has ever happened to me!!! I certainly had no idea at the time of my move, that I would be soon representing one of the world’s greatest grooming lines, Triumph & Disaster!
It was after a trip to Sweden and Copenhagen, that I caught up with an old friend from Melbourne for a coffee in Brooklyn. We both started casually throwing around some ideas about the opportunities that could possibly open up for me to represent for the brand she worked for, Mr.Elk leather goods by Elk Accessories from Melbourne . I knew straight away that I would also love to represent Triumph & Disaster from NZ, a brand I have always aspired too, personally using myself and recommend to all my Dashing Hound’s clients, friends and family.
Within a couple of days I was on the phone to the founder of Triumph & Disaster, Dion Nash. We had a very positive chat and was keen to get me on board. Things started to move along fast! Soon enough I was working remotely with an amazing T&D team. Director of USA, Holly Waker based in LA, legends Ben and Mason based in Sydney and NZ superstar Dwayne, who all teach me the ropes and tips on successful selling. We have scheduled weekly Skype chats which keep me motivated and in the loop with the product.
The initial reaction with T&D on the street and walking into barber shops, retailers, chemists and salons, has all been positive vibes. New Yorkers dig the packaging, the branding is tough, sexy and masculine, plus the product of course speaks for itself.
Biggest challenge? It would have to be this crazy NYC weather. The record breaking snow blizzards of 30″inches deep of snowfall this weekend, me falling down subway staircases, and wearing enough layers to dress a family of 5 in standard Aussie weather…I honestly never, in my wildest dreams thought that I would be pounding the pavement on the streets of NY to sell and hustle in these conditions. No car, just my legs and an MTA card. You know that little app our mate Steve jobs created? Well I’m clocking up those miles/steps. Who need’s a gym membership when you’re averaging 11,380 steps a day? My record was 22,963. Beat that in stack heel boots!
The most exciting news I have to announce, is that Holly and I are super excited to be representing Triumph & Disaster at men’s NY Capsule Show AW16 at pier 92 Jan 26-28th (this week!) where all the top brands around the world come together under one roof. Buyers from everywhere will have the chance to see the full line of products for themselves! Here’s to a successful show…wish me luck and I’ll be sure to be covering it LIVE from Capsule on the Triumph & Disaster Snap Chat and Instagram; so make sure you’re following.

It’s been over 12 months ago that Caz started on her dream to expand Dashing Hounds across to New York city.
In 2014, Caz lived in Brooklyn for 3 months and spent most of that time hustling, door knocking, networking and attending trade-shows. Caz discovered new brands, watching the world cup soccer with editors, met up with designers and drank plenty of bottomless coffee to use their free WiFi.
Finally it has all come to fruition. Dashing Hounds is now ready to raise the bar and expand all the way to New York City. Caz knows it will require some hard work and patients but all good things take time.
Caz is a one-man band. To all existing Dashing Hounds clients in Melbourne, this is certainly not a goodbye but a huge thank you for your ongoing support. If you or a friend are traveling to the big apple for business or vacation after July 2015, Dashing Hounds will take you shopping. In just a few hours, your will not have only saved some precious travel time and money but your new wardrobe will having you looking the goods for when you return home.
See you in New York!
Caz Little began her fashion career in Melbourne over 15 years ago, studying fashion to then design for well-known Australian brands such as Lee Jeans, Bradmill and Elwood Clothing Co.
During 2012, Caz came up with an idea called Dashing Hounds, a service designed to help men shop!
“After 10 years of designing menswear, I decided that I now want to help men look good and show them where to shop! I am very passionate about supporting local business”- says Caz Little.
From the start, Caz dreamt to be a stylist. Dreaming of the idea to work in television, her fashion schooling teacher helped by getting her in foot in the door, doing work placement at the Nine Network’s wardrobe department. Caz later returned to the Nine Network, styling the stars and expertly grooming the panel for The AFL Footy Show, The Nine News team, as well as various publicity shoots.
Caz’s level of expertise and professionalism has steered her into styling lifestyle shoots for high-end luxury residential developments working with large design agencies, property developers, architects and internationally acclaimed photographers such as Sarah Anderson and Paul Barbera.
Highlights of her styling career include dressing GQ Magazine Winner for Man of the Year 2013, CEO & co-founder of the mens health organization Movember, Adam Garone, Grammy nominated Melbourne soul band, Hiatus Kaiyote for the red carpet at the 2014 MTV Awards and as well TV week gold Logie winner, Scotty Cam (and his glorious wife) from Nine Networks, The Block.
Caz’s passion for menswear, television and styling is sure to impress.
